This weekend, eight of our Prime Powerteam drivers will be heading down to Indiana to compete in the prestigious Cup Karts Grand Nationals. While the team won’t be there in an official capacity, we are incredibly proud of these racers making the trip to what is set to be one of the biggest karting events of the year. With over 600 competitors, the Grand Nationals is the premier 4-cycle racing event, and our drivers will be up against some tough competition. But with their proven track records, we know they will be a force to be reckoned with.
Let’s take a look at the eight Prime Powerteam drivers fighting for victory at the Grand Nationals.
Jordan Prior
A two-time Grand Nationals winner (2019 and 2023) and three-time Canadian Karting Champion in Briggs, Jordan Prior is bringing his experience, race craft, and determination to the Senior Light and Senior Medium categories this weekend. With two chances at the win, Jordan’s competitive edge makes him one to watch in both categories.
David Barnes
Last year’s Canadian Karting Champion in Briggs Senior, David Barnes is always a top competitor, and we expect nothing less at the Grands. His aggressive racing style and consistently strong pace suit this high-level event, and he’ll be aiming for the top spot in Senior Light.
Mitchell Morrow
Fresh off an impressive performance at the Canadian Karting Championships, Mitchell Morrow will be taking on double duty at the Grand Nationals, competing in both Senior Light and Senior Medium. This isn’t Mitchell’s first time at the Grands, and his past experience could give him the edge he needs to secure a strong result.
Owen McCarthy
Owen McCarthy will also be competing in both Senior Light and Senior Medium. He’s quietly built an impressive resume this year, including a P2 finish at the Rok Cup Florida Winter Tour and another P2 at the Canadian Karting Championship. This is the biggest race of his career, and we’re excited to see how he performs on the grand stage.
Jaden Hundal
Jaden Hundal rounds out our Briggs Senior drivers. After a fantastic season in Briggs Junior last year, Jaden has faced challenges moving up to Senior this year but has shown incredible resilience. We believe his luck is about to turn, and this could be the event where everything comes together for him.
Leo Serravalle
In Briggs Junior, Leo Serravalle is taking on the Grand Nationals after a stellar first year in Junior. Fresh off his win at Round 3 of the Inter-Club Challenge, Leo has been improving steadily all year and will be up against over 90 other Junior drivers. This will be an exciting test for him, and we can’t wait to see how he fares.
Jackson Corbett
Jackson Corbett also steps into the spotlight in Briggs Junior. Known for delivering his best performances in high-stakes events, Jackson finished 3rd in last year’s Canadian Karting Championship and 5th this year. With a knack for thriving on the big stage, he’ll be one to watch as he takes on the Grands.
Yousef Adi
In Briggs Cadet, Yousef Adi is making the trip to Indiana in what will be his biggest race yet. Fresh off winning the HRKC Club Championship in Briggs Cadet, Yousef is up against over 50 other cadets. Though it’s his rookie season, he’s well-prepared for the challenge and ready to make an impact.
Best of luck to all our drivers as they take on the biggest 4-cycle race of the year. Though we won’t be there in person, we’ll be cheering for you from north of the border. Make us proud!
