Prime Powerteam is excited to officially announce our 2026 team race schedule, and it is shaping up to be the most ambitious and exciting season in our team’s history.
For 2026, Prime will compete in 21 race events across 11 different tracks throughout Canada and the United States, supporting drivers in both Rotax and Briggs kart racing programs. Our schedule spans multiple major championships including RMC Ontario, RMC Quebec, KartStars, the Ontario Inter-Club Challenge, Coupe de Montreal, and several special events including the Canadian Karting Championships.
With a growing driver lineup and increased investment in both our Rotax racing program and Briggs racing program, we are looking forward to another season of development, competition, and championship battles.
Below is a breakdown of the key series and events we’re excited to compete in this year.
KartStars Championship
2026 marks our second year competing in the KartStars championship, and we are extremely excited to return to this series after a fantastic experience last season.
KartStars quickly established itself as one of the premier kart racing series in Ontario, offering competitive racing and excellent event organization. Our Briggs drivers especially enjoyed the series last year, with strong participation and exciting racing throughout the season.
A major development for 2026 is the addition of Rotax racing to the KartStars program. This is a big step forward for the series and something we are particularly excited about, as Prime Powerteam has made a significant investment in our Rotax karting program in recent seasons.
Drivers will now have the opportunity to compete in Rotax classes as well as Briggs, and there will also be the option to run ROK VLR engines for drivers interested in that platform. With these additions, KartStars continues to evolve into one of the most versatile and exciting kart racing series in the country.
Rotax Max Challenge – RMC Ontario & RMC Quebec
On the Rotax side of things, Prime Powerteam will once again compete in both RMC Ontario and RMC Quebec.
These two championships represent the highest level of Rotax kart racing in Canada, attracting top drivers from across the country. Both series offer excellent competition and a clear pathway to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, one of the most prestigious international karting events in the world.
While both championships also support Briggs classes, the primary focus is Rotax competition. With Rotax Grand Finals tickets on the line, these events are some of the most important races on the calendar.
Prime Powerteam has already secured one Rotax Grand Finals ticket this season, and our goal is to support our drivers in securing as many additional tickets as possible throughout the year.
Ontario Inter-Club Challenge
The Ontario Inter-Club Challenge has become a popular championship for Briggs racers looking for competitive racing across multiple tracks in the province.
This series brings together drivers from different kart clubs throughout Ontario, creating a fun and competitive environment with strong participation and exciting racing.
For our Briggs drivers, the Inter-Club Challenge provides another great opportunity to race at different venues while competing against some of the best grassroots racers in the province.
Coupe de Montreal
After a very successful experience last season, Prime Powerteam will once again be competing in the Coupe de Montreal championship in Quebec.
We originally joined this series last year and received excellent feedback from our drivers, who enjoyed both the racing and the opportunity to compete at several fantastic tracks in Quebec.
Based on driver interest and requests, we are excited to include multiple Coupe de Montreal rounds in our 2026 schedule, continuing to expand our presence in Quebec kart racing.
Canadian Karting Championships
One of the biggest highlights of the season will be the 2026 Canadian Karting Championships, which will be held at our home track, Hamilton Karting Complex.
The Canadian Nationals represent the highest level of kart racing in Canada, bringing together the top drivers from across the country to compete for national titles.
In preparation for this major event, the Constructors Cup held the week prior will serve as an ideal tune-up race for drivers and teams to dial in their equipment before the national championship begins.
Racing for a Canadian National Championship at our home track will be a special moment for the team and our drivers.
Rotax Final Ticket Events
In addition to our championship commitments, Prime Powerteam will also participate in several special Rotax Final Ticket events.
These include the Western Canada Final at Calgary Kart Racing Club and the US Rotax Trophy Final at New Castle Motorsports Park.
These events provide additional opportunities for drivers to earn Rotax Grand Finals tickets, making them extremely important for anyone pursuing international competition.
New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana is widely regarded as one of the best karting circuits in North America, and the Calgary Kart Racing Club event will bring us to a track that is new to many members of our team.
New Tracks and New Challenges
A couple of events on the schedule stand out as particularly exciting because they take us to tracks where Prime Powerteam has limited recent experience.
One of these is RMC Ontario Round 3 at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, a fast and technical circuit that should produce some fantastic racing.
Another is the Western Canada Final at Calgary Kart Racing Club in Strathmore, Alberta. This will be a completely new challenge for many of our drivers and team members, which always adds a bit of excitement to the season.
New tracks bring new learning opportunities, and we’re looking forward to the challenge.
A Huge Year Ahead
All together, the 2026 Prime Powerteam schedule includes 21 karting events across 11 different tracks, with racing taking place throughout Canada and the United States. The team will compete in multiple championship series across both Rotax and Briggs platforms.
It is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting season with lots of opportunities for both Rotax and Briggs racers.
Whether drivers are chasing Rotax Grand Finals tickets, national championships, or simply looking to compete in some of the best kart racing events in Canada, the 2026 season has something for everyone.
