This season, Prime Powerteam’s Mini ROK drivers, Ryker Magro and Ava Cabral, have been turning heads worldwide, collecting experience—and frequent flyer miles—as they take on some of the sport’s top international events. Their journeys have led them from Italy to Spain, and now, they’re gearing up to end their season in Las Vegas for the ROK Cup Vegas, North America’s premier ROK racing event. Both Ryker and Ava have gained invaluable experience this year, learning lessons that will no doubt come into play as they hit the grid in the Mini ROK category at the Rio’s temporary circuit.
Ryker Magro’s World Stage Experience at the ROK Cup Superfinal
Ryker Magro’s path to the ROK Cup Vegas included an exciting stop at the ROK Cup Superfinal in Italy, where he joined the world’s best Mini ROK drivers at the legendary South Garda Karting track in Lonato. Winning his ticket to the Superfinal was a huge achievement on its own, and from October 15th to 19th, Ryker went head-to-head with 64 elite drivers in the Mini ROK class. After four intense days of practice, qualifying, and heat races, Ryker earned his place in the Final, starting from P25 on the grid—a fantastic result in an ultra-competitive field.
The Superfinal was marred by challenging weather, with rain intensifying just as the Final began. After being forced off-track in the opening corner and spinning later in the race, Ryker fought hard to keep pace with the pack, ultimately finishing P31. Though the result wasn’t what he hoped, the experience gained in wet, competitive conditions against world-class drivers will be invaluable as he heads to Las Vegas. We know Ryker will take these hard-won lessons to the ROK Cup Vegas, where he’ll look to showcase his skills once again.
Ava Cabral’s Journey from Karting to Rally Style Dirt Track at the FIA Motorsport Games
Ava Cabral’s season has been equally remarkable, filled with growth and breakthrough performances. Competing full-time in the Mini ROK category for the first time, Ava has made impressive strides, capped by a stunning sweep of the weekend at Round 3 of the Ron Fellows Karting Championship. Her talents have caught the attention of several organizations, including Road To Racing and Women in Motorsport, leading to an extraordinary opportunity to represent Canada at the FIA Motorsport Games in Spain.
At the FIA Games, Ava faced a whole new challenge—competing in the Mini Cross Car category on a rally-style dirt track, a first for her. Though she had never driven on dirt before, Ava adapted quickly and brought her fierce competitive spirit to the course, ultimately finishing in an incredible 3rd place. The experience showed her versatility and resilience, qualities that will be crucial as she heads to Las Vegas to take on the best Mini ROK racers in North America.
Eyes on the ROK Cup Vegas
With their international experiences behind them, Ryker and Ava now set their sights on Las Vegas for the ROK Cup Vegas. Racing on a temporary circuit in the Rio’s parking lot, they will face a massive field of talented Mini ROK drivers in a high-stakes, high-speed event. Bringing with them the lessons learned from Italy and Spain, they are more prepared than ever to compete on the North American stage.
At Prime Powerteam, we couldn’t be prouder of Ryker and Ava’s dedication and determination. We know they’ll apply everything they’ve learned in their global journeys as they take on the ROK Cup Vegas. We wish them all the best and have full confidence they’ll make us proud with their performances. Go, Team Prime!
Congratulations to Ava on representing Canada in Spain and bringing home the bronze medal. We are so very proud of her beyond words, and wish her all the best in Vegas!!!
