Sabourin Brothers: From Grand Finals to Supernats

At Prime Powerteam, we’ve had the privilege of working with many talented drivers over the years, but the 2024 season brought something extra special: the Sabourin brothers, Arnaud and Ludovic. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and talent on and off the track have made them standout members of our team. Here’s a recap of their journey with us this year and a look at what’s next for them.

Arnaud Sabourin: Rising Star

Arnaud Sabourin joined Prime Powerteam at the start of the season and quickly became a favorite under the team tent. Competing in every major race with us, including the Ron Fellows Karting Championship, the Motomaster Canadian Karting Championship, Florida Winter Tour and more, Arnaud consistently showcased his determination to improve and compete at the highest level.

His season reached a high point winning the RMC Ontario series, in Senior earning him a ticket to the prestigious Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF).

Ludovic Sabourin: A Quebec Standout

While Ludovic primarily raced in Quebec, he joined Prime Powerteam for key events such as the RMC Winter Trophy, the Ron Fellows race at Mont-Tremblant, and the Motomaster Canadian Karting Championship. Ludovic’s season was nothing short of spectacular, with multiple wins and podium finishes in the DD2 class. His crowning achievement came with his victory at the Canadian Open, which secured his own ticket to the RMCGF.

A Family Affair at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals

Winning a ticket to the RMC Grand Finals is no small feat, and having two brothers achieve this milestone in the same season is truly remarkable. While Arnaud initially earned his ticket in the Senior Max category, unforeseen circumstances saw him, along with several other Senior drivers, move into the DD2 class—putting both brothers on the same grid.

Representing Team Canada, the Sabourin brothers raced against the world’s best. Although neither made it to the final, their performances were impressive, and the lessons learned will undoubtedly fuel their growth in future international competitions.

Next Stop: SKUSA SuperNationals 27

The season isn’t over yet! The Sabourin brothers are gearing up for the SKUSA SuperNationals 27 in Las Vegas, one of the most prestigious 2-stroke karting events in the United States. Arnaud will be competing in the X30 Senior class, while Ludovic takes on the KA100 Senior class.
