The King of Race Recaps — Why We Love Following Arnaud Sabourin

Social media has done a lot of good for karting. From our perspective at Prime Powerteam, it’s one of the best tools out there for showcasing our drivers, keeping everyone up to date with what races we’re heading to, who’s competing, and how the results shook out. For individual drivers, it’s an awesome way to document their journey — especially since most races aren’t broadcast — giving family, friends, and fans a window into the action.

But let’s be honest for a second — have race recaps gotten a little too dramatic lately?
You know the type: long stories of being “taken out unfairly,” “wronged by the universe,” or “robbed of victory.” Somewhere along the way, accountability and good humor became rare commodities in post-race write-ups.

And that’s exactly why Arnaud Sabourin is such a breath of fresh air.

If you’re not already following @sabouarno, stop what you’re doing and hit that follow button — because no one, and we mean no one, does race recaps like Arnaud. His posts strike the perfect balance between honesty, humor, and humility. They’re raw, real, and always entertaining.

Arnaud, along with his mechanic Franco and his family, has been a fantastic addition to the Prime Powerteam family over the past couple of years. They bring passion for the sport, an incredible work ethic, and a lighthearted energy that makes the tent a better place to be. And that same energy absolutely shines through in his social media.

His race reports started as straightforward updates — positive, grateful, and professional. But somewhere along the way, they evolved into something truly special. Just take a look at some highlights:

RMC Québec Round 2 Recap
“Honestly, a pretty great weekend with a few ‘what just happened’ moments.
Quali? P3 in Group B… but let’s talk about that. I tried to catch a draft from the REM guys, but surprise, they had the same idea. So we all just ended up playing ‘after you, no after YOU.’ Classic.
Pre-final? Drove like I had no pace… turns out I was actually faster than everyone 😅 Finished P5 in Group B, which put me starting P10 for the final.
Final? Finally got it together climbed up to P4 and ended the weekend on a high note!”

Euro Trophy Round 4 Sarno 🇮🇹

Quali: full send behind Butcher, P11 out of 60. For me, that’s basically a pole lap 🏁😂

Heats: classic Euro racing… one mistake and you’re instantly mowing the lawn. Managed top 15s, except when I got sent to test the wall in turn 1. Spoiler: the wall is solid 🫠

Pre-final: dream start, P15 → P8…then my brakes glazed and turned into decorations -_-Dropped to P16, thanks for nothing.

Final: started P30 on used tires, somehow yeeted my way to P17. Brakes actually worked this time.

Progress is progress. Next up: Tremblant, running Rotax Senior + DD2. Double the classes, double the fun!

Thank you to everyone that makes this possible.

Le Mans 🇫🇷 RMCIT Recap
“DNF in quali out of 108 Senior drivers… so yeah, it was basically like starting a marathon in flip-flops.
From there, the weekend spiraled into a beautiful mix of chaos, frustration, and character building 💀
Result? Let’s just say the highlight was packing up.”

RMC Canada Final 🇨🇦
“What a weekend. Like… very nice.
P2 in Rotax Senior, one of the biggest and sweatiest classes out there (almost 40 drivers trying to murder each other on track, love that).
Sunday pre-final? Oh man. That thing was so good it should’ve been illegal. Pulled off a 12-second lead like I was on wet rails while everyone else was on ice. Felt like I was in a movie.
Then came the final. Track dried up, had a good start, but couldn’t quite bring it home for the win.
No Bahrain ticket this time… but hey, I’ll just book a flight to Newcastle (US Open) instead and try again there 😎✈️”

And then, the one that might just be our favorite:

Canadian Nationals Recap 🇨🇦
“Rotax Senior not good, not bad kinda weekend. Pace just wasn’t there, setup felt like a lottery ticket, and my driving… let’s just say I’ve done better. Finished in the Top 10, but it felt more like survival mode than racing.
VLR 100cc the shitbox experience. Louder than an F1 car, slower than a grocery cart with three wheels. Honestly, no clue why I signed up for that. Character building, I guess.
So yeah, weekend = mid.
Next stop: SH let’s see what happens.”

Every post is pure gold — equal parts self-deprecating, insightful, and funny. Arnaud somehow manages to turn every weekend, good or bad, into something worth reading. It’s refreshing, it’s real, and it reminds us why we love this sport in the first place.

So here’s to you, Arnaud — never change.
Keep racing hard, keep smiling, and please… never stop writing those race recaps. The karting world needs them.
