Hope Springs Eternal – A New Season Begins at Prime Powerteam

There’s nothing quite like spring in karting. The snow has melted, the sun is hanging around longer, and the sound of engines roaring back to life is starting to echo across tracks in Ontario. It’s a time of year full of energy, anticipation, and endless possibility. Hope truly springs eternal.

Everyone starts fresh. There are no points on the board, no standings to worry about, and every championship is wide open. The slate is clean, and everyone has a shot. It’s one of the most exciting times in the sport – where preparation meets opportunity, and we start to see who put in the work over the winter.

Some of our drivers have kept busy by heading south during the off-season, racing against top talent and honing their racecraft. Others have spent hours in the sim, working on their race craft. Some have focused on physical fitness, showing up stronger and sharper than ever. Others have been students of the sport, watching hours of racing footage and building their strategic minds. And some took a well-earned break to reset and recharge.

Now it’s time to see if it all paid off.

While the major races are still a few weeks away, the early season is the perfect chance to shake off the rust with practice laps and club events. This is when we start dialing in the karts, finding speed, and locking in race-day routines. 2025 is shaping up to be a very different year for karting in Ontario—and for Prime Powerteam.

Every season brings change. Some of it is exciting, some of it challenging, but we adapt and keep pushing forward. We’ve seen some long-time Prime racers move on to new chapters—we’ll miss themunder the tent—but we’re equally thrilled to welcome fresh faces and new talent into the team. Our full 2025 roster will be announced soon, and we couldn’t be more excited about the group we’ve assembled. We’re confident this year’s squad will be in contention for podiums and championships across the board.

One big change in the landscape this year is the end of the Ron Fellows Karting Championship. For years, this series was a staple in our racing calendar. We want to thank Ron, Linda, and the entire crew who poured their time, energy, and passion into building such a high-quality championship. It will be missed.

But as one chapter ends, another begins.

We’re shifting gears and diving into the KartStars Canada series, which brings Ontario’s three premier tracks—Goodwood, Mosport, and Hamilton—back under one championship banner. We’ll be supporting the full KartStars schedule with a strong focus on Briggs classes, while also backing our Mini ROK and VLR drivers competing in the series.

On the two-stroke side, we’re going all-in on Rotax. After strong driver demand and fantastic results in 2024, we’re ramping things up even more this season. Expect to see Prime Powerteam drivers in full force across the RMC Ontario and RMC Quebec series, with additional plans to compete at the RMC Canada Final in Western Canada. We’re also continuing to provide Rotax opportunities in the U.S. after successful outings at the RMC Winter Trophy and RMC USA West in Phoenix you can expect us to be at the US Trophy Final in September.

Our goal is simple— help our drivers develop and give as many chances as possible to win tickets to the Rotax Grand Finals and compete on the world stage.

Yes, 2025 will look different. But we’re ready for it. We’re excited. And we’re committed, as always, to driver development, smart coaching, and maximizing every opportunity to succeed. One thing that hasn’t changed is our trust in the Birel ART chassis—still our weapon of choice and a proven winner on every platform.

If you’re looking to level up this season, if you want to be part of a team that knows how to develop drivers and win races, we’d love to talk. Reach out to [email protected] to learn more about our race programs and how we can help you make 2025 your best season yet.

Let’s get this season started. See you at the track.
